Holdfast
The Brief
Holdfast’s previous site was outdated and required a professional looking site that portrayed the corporate image to a wide and varied market. The site needed a clean & fresh design, with an intuitive and functional navigation. It also needed to be fully content managed to allow Holdfast to easily update copy and images to the site.
Our Solution
We started by producing a full usability report on Holdfast’s existing site. This provided a user’s eye view of their website showing the key areas that were hindering them and clear suggestions about the benefits Holdfast could expect if these were improved. The report also highlighted areas that were working well and should be retained in the new design.
Based on those findings, our creative team set about revitalising Holdfast’s online presence and produced designs that reflected Holdfast’s energy, pride, and expertise that is evident in the training they provide. We harnessed the great imagery that Holdfast had at their disposal, and ensured every page had imagery that captured the excitement of the training on offer.
Part of the brief was to have an online photo library in which users could easily browse all the fantastic Holdfast imagery available and request hi-res images. Up until now this had always been a lengthy process that was conducted via email communication, and as such was a drain on resource. By empowering users to have access to the Holdfast image library it allowed them to easily identify and request the images they wanted. To avoid users simply saving the images straight from the site we built a system which automatically layered a Holdfast watermark over the image when they were uploaded into the CMS.
The Result
We built the site on time, on budget, on brief, and most importantly to such a high technical standard that UAT (User Acceptance Testing) after the demo release was almost non-existent. It worked perfectly from the start!
