Sky Solar+
The Brief
Solar+ was a pilot scheme to test the demand for a free, renewable electricity source amongst a target audience to allow them to install solar panels on their roof to harness the sun's power. The pilot was open to people within the Reading area and was promoted through a targeted DM campaign directing people to the website. The site needed to include a questionnaire which determined if the property met the criteria to be viable for solar panels.
Our Solution
Using the latest Google Maps API technology we devised a mechanic which allowed users to quickly find their house on an aerial map and drop a pin onto their roof. This pin would easily show the user if their roof was south facing (and hence eligible for solar panels). If the user qualified for the scheme their details were collated into a web based workflow CRM system. Using this system, the call centre agent could verify the application and manage the workflow through the full 6-8 week process (e.g. booking a survey, entering the results of the survey, issuing contracts etc). The system was also set up to automatically email users at every step to notify them of the progress of their application.
As this project was a pilot it was essential there was a robust reporting functionality built in to allow Sky to fully gauge the proposition.
A full interactive reporting system was created to allow detailed interrogation of all the data. This allowed Sky to track key metrics such as : the conversion rates of applications to completions, number of properties surveyed and result of survey, cancellation tracking etc.
The Result
The project was delivered on budget within extremely tight deadlines. Within 2 weeks of receiving the brief the customer site was live and a week after that the call centre CRM workflow system was in place.
Our digital solution dramatically improved the call centre’s efficiencies and accuracy of data collation and the reporting element that was built in allowed Sky to evaluate the pilot to make key business decisions.
